Wedding at The Brownstone: Vito & Janel

May 31, 2019

Wedding at The Brownstone in Paterson New Jersey. A historic wedding venue that has housed many weddings for decades.

I photographed here years ago as a freelance photographer until I decided to start my own studio. I know I posted a few blog post stating how much I love great people. Vito and Janel are one of the kindest people I have ever met. Mind you the first time I’ve ever met them was actually on their wedding date. Sometimes I don’t know if I should be nervous not meeting some of my couples or should I actually be honored that they believed in my work so much that they decided to outright hire me for their wedding. There are too many photos for me to put on this blog post so I decided to cut it down and I think I might cut down the photos for a future blog post because most of my couples are getting more than 1000 photos and with Janel and Vito it’s way beyond that.

I always tell my couples to focus on moments, because moments are what actually makes your wedding day. Of course, the wedding day is saying I do to the most important person in your life besides your parents. But without documenting moments I believe that photos of your wedding will never be memorialized or you will never get that nostalgic feeling that you had on your wedding date I decided to select the photos that reveal moments from Janel’s look on her face the first time she saw her father when he walked into the hotel room or seeing her dad’s face for the first time or when he saw her in her wedding dress. From the intimate and private conversations that Vito and Janel most likely had there in their first dances as well as the parent dancers.

I felt an amazing amount of excellent energy from Janel and her family. All of them are a class act and it was an honor photographing their wedding. We started out at the hotel for Bridal prep and then went back into my hometown of Hoboken to photograph their wedding at Saint Francis Church. Where I would do some community service and volunteer work there as a kid. I think what drew Janel and Vito to my work were the photographs that I’ve taken a liberty house. So after the ceremony that’s where we went to take some photographs. They basically listen to every single advice as if they have taken an engagement session with me which I was pretty impressed because I’ve never met them before only the day of the wedding but have spoken with them on the phone and Janel’s energy and humbleness has always impressed me.

Here are a few from their day enjoy
