Fall Wedding at The Tides Estate for today’s Wedding for Mario and Eve. I photographed at the venue a few times so I know the location and lighting very well. I love the ballroom at the venue as it’s very spacious with nice uplighting. Mario & I go way back. Like way back. Well that’s the story of me and the groom for this wedding. We feature Mario and Eve for today’s wedding. I think this is, well it is the first wedding I do for a personal friend. Very humbled to be selected of course for their wedding but this wedding was a wedding where I practically knew everyone that attended the wedding.
Mario & I have ties to each other even before we were born as our families have been tied together since the 60’s in Hoboken. Mario’s mom was best friends with my aunt and knew my mom and entire family. As a kid I’ve always seen Mario with his Dad in Hoboken but just didn’t know that our families knew each other since he lived on 1st street and me on 9th st. But we would see each other from little league or sporting functions. It was basically in High School where we really met each other and played on the same baseball team together. After graduating he enlisted in the Marines and we lost touch for a few years later. Happen to see him one year on the street during my morning commute to work back in the early 2000’s and at the time, as most of my clients may not know but I actually use to dance Salsa professionally for like 11-13 years. That’s how I basically introduced Mario into dancing.
Fast forward to now and Mario now has a successful Salsa school in Jersey city and has brought many people together. Even met his now wife Eve through this channel. Eve’s family even has ties to the Salsa world as I even danced with her cousin as well years back.
So can one guess what they danced to for their first dance? Yes… Salsa. Here are a few from their day…..
