Engagement Photos In Dumbo Park: George & Merna

May 22, 2018

Engagement Photos in Dumbo Park for today’s blog post between George & Merna. I actually can’t remember the last time I actually felt like work felt like practice. I mean I always have fun and love what I do but I don’t remember the last time I photographed a session and it felt like I was actually doing my first shoot or have the feeling like I was in a photography workshop. Anything I wanted to do at a given time and how I wanted them posed, they did. This helps any artist in the industry create what they see to life and that is what they did….

I had a great wedding consultation with these two and to say the least very flattered by them for believing in me. I know images on my website or Instagram can speak for ones work and what they are capable of doing but it’s always special when a client actually tells you why they would like to hire you. That images speak to them. That is the biggest thing one should always go with. Nonetheless, they told me that they browsed through many photographers and they happen to like me most so I cannot be more humbled by their words.

Going into the session I knew already that the photos will turn out well. It was just one of those feelings I had. There was some confusion as to what locations they wanted as they wanted Asbury park then Coney Island but George actually mentioned Dumbo Park, which I felt had the most versatility of them all.
Dumbo Park to me is very confined but I just see beautiful light in certain parts of the park and pockets of light I can place my subject to give it that moody look.

When I first started in photography and didn’t know anything about light. Looking at magazines, blogs and just images you see on the web. The photos that have always caught my attention were the photos that looked moody with shadows, lines, rim lighting and even light when it calls for it. And this place has all of it with art that Dumbo Park creates..

These two are tying the knot this year at The Legacy Castle…

Dumbo Park is starting to become one of my favorite places to photograph. Lots of versatility in such a small area. Pockets of light and great views.
