New York City wedding today here on the blog and we are at The Nomad Hotel. As we say today. Love is Love, and love will always come out on top. This is my first same sex marriage. I did one years ago to be honest, when I was a freelance wedding photographer but this one was my puppy. I really don’t know how Chris found me but from the very beginning everything was not formal but extremely casual and I mean that in a good way. From the moment I talked to him and from the moment we had our wedding consultation which was at a bar near their house. Which I loved haha, as I insisted they come visit, check out albums and see more work but they insisted that they liked my work enough that they didn’t need to see any more photos or anything else and they just wanted to merely meet me. Which I was flattered.
The day went as casual as you can ask for. No bridesmaids, no groomsmen or a wedding party. Just a celebration of both of them, very mild. I asked them where are they getting ready. They said “together” which is out of the norm and actually cool. With most weddings, couples are always anticipating a first look or what not. So I wanted to capture the getting ready portion with both of them in the same frame. Which made my life easier. They had their ceremony on the rooftop of a place called God’s Love We Deliver and then we went straight to the rooftop of the beautiful Nomad Hotel. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prettier room than the cake room…
Congrats to Chris & Gary…. such wonderful people. Here are a few from their day….
